This largely depends. I know, I know, this is a crappy answer. However, if you’re wanting to do an outdoor shoot in a location where it’s free to shoot, it’s going to cost a lot less than if you want to do a studio shoot with hair and makeup artists, a designer’s fashion line, etc.
Here’s what I can say definitively:
- The studio cost is $350 no matter what. This isn’t my cost, this is the studio’s cost.
- Hair and makeup can vary depending on who’s doing the work. Often times it’s about $100 per person for the day’s shoot
- My cost is largely based off of what the expectations are. If you’re working with an agency, I work with them on cost. If you’re just wanting content for yourself, the cost will change accordingly.
My recommendations are as follows:
- If you’re intending to do an outdoor shoot, consider setting aside roughly 500 for a full day’s shoot (5+ hours)
- If you’re looking for a studio shoot and all that comes with it, I’d set aside $1000
- If you’re looking for digitals (agency specific, no retouch) set aside $250
- I can usually make everything work within these parameters.
