My Story

If you’re reading this, I’d like to first and foremost thank you for both visiting my website, and for taking interest in finding out more about who I am.

My name is Robert Grey, and for the past 20 years I’ve been an entrepreneur. I started a marketing company in the early 2000s called Allamar Design and immediately found myself gravitating towards the design facets of the work. I’ve worked with both mom-and-pop style companies and enterprise level corporations over my time as a Marketing Director.

However, I was always trying to find ways to scratch the design itch. I would sit at home in the deep hours of the night, designing pieces of art for myself, or anyone else who might be interested. I was overly drawn to creating artwork that revolved around fashion and beauty; It drove me.

Over the years, I found myself associated with some of the best photographers in Colorado, and was given opportunities to handle their retouch work. As a result, I began taking a huge interest in the world of fashion and beauty. I was able to work on images that were professionally done, rather than just stock imagery and my compulsive need to do the very best I could manage, kept me more than just slightly immersed.

In 2018 a friend of mine introduced me to a woman named Kat, who had an incredible idea for hosting smashing events in random locations around Colorado. I would help coordinate the events, and would bring along my iPhone and protective glasses so I could film the objects being smashed. This was effectively my first foray into the world of photo and video. It’s because of these events that I decided I needed to become a part of this world.

Yup, that’s me laying on the ground, about to get a face full of glass and chalk.

One Monday evening, a long-time friend of mine who is a sensational photographer, called me and asked me if I would like to accompany him to a shoot that he was doing the following day. He wanted me to try my hand at shooting some videos for him and for the shoot itself. I did the best I could, and found that I loved the work. It was solidified at this point that not only did I want to work behind the camera, but I wanted to do that work in a studio. Below is the video that I put together for that shoot. Bare in mind that this was my first time really getting to do this kind of work, be gentle in your judgements:

In 2020 when the pandemic shook the world, I had to close down my business. I wasn’t sure how long COVID was going to have an impact on my work, but with a two-year-old son, I couldn’t risk trying to make life work without an income. I began working as a photographer and videographer for a plastic surgery practice, and with a newly acquired camera and lens, I was finally moving away from the world of marketing, and into something that I could truly enjoy.

In the early part of 2022, I was called by the same friend to accompany him to a fashion show. It was on that day that I got my first taste of how amazing the world of fashion really was. I was watching an incredibly talented group of models, wearing exceptionally lovely clothing designed by none other than Ashlee Taylor in her East Meets West fashion line.

Shortly after, I was asked if I would be a second photographer for a Valentine’s Day shoot, as there were going to be a lot of models to photograph, and support would be necessary, given the length of the fashion show and shoot nuances. Within weeks of the Valentine’s Day shoot, I was asked by a sensational designer by the name of Jenn Burback, to be the photographer for her upcoming show entitled Genesis. This was the beginning of the fashion photographer journey for me, and has been the passion and soul focus ever since.

I hope you enjoy my work. I truly give all of myself to this work, and without all of the support I’ve gotten from people like you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I want to give special thanks to some wonderful people:
