F.A.Q.

Questions I get asked all the time

Why does it cost so much?2024-07-17T22:42:15+00:00

Simply put, because it’s not easy. While anyone can pick up a camera, not everyone can create something you’ll love forever. This is before we mention the costs associated with photography. People sometimes forget that photographers have to spend a lot of money in order to get the results they’re looking to achieve, and more importantly, the results you’re looking to achieve.

  • Camera: 4k
  • Lighting: 12k
  • Studio rental: $350 every time
  • Travel costs
  • Hair and makeup costs

Most importantly, it comes down to experience, practice, effort, and knowhow. There are a million choices out there, but are they creating what you want?

How many outfits should I bring to a shoot?2024-07-17T22:38:06+00:00

The answer is: However many you want to shoot in. The issues you may run into are:

  • we may run out of time
  • If we’re not in a studio, we’re going to have to find a safe space for you to change
  • Sometimes the burden of too many choices can cause indecisiveness

That said, bring everything you want, and we’ll see what we can do.

Do you work with anyone who does hair and or makeup?2024-07-17T22:36:03+00:00

Yes. I work with some of the greatest people one could have the privilege of knowing.

Can I bring a friend to the shoot?2024-07-17T22:34:51+00:00

Absolutely. I encourage it. While I’m not there to take images of them, I want you to feel comfortable, and this is 100% a great way for you to feel as though you’re in a safe place. If you want to bring your friend, your parent, or someone else for that matter, please feel free to do so.

Do you do any nude or boudoir photography?2024-07-18T03:04:43+00:00

No. I do not. I have nothing against this style, but it’s just not what I focus on.

I believe that fashion and beauty photography is about clothing **on** models. Beautiful works of wearable art on those who want to wear it for fashion’s sake. I can certainly recommend people that are in the boudoir realm, but I do not personally do this type of work.

Where is your studio2024-07-17T22:30:38+00:00

I don’t own a studio, but I do work out of Miller Visual Media. The address is 3768 Norwood Dr UNIT E, Littleton, CO 80125 and a location marker can also be found on the map at the bottom of the Contact page.

What should I wear to a shoot2024-07-17T22:26:11+00:00

This all depends on what kind of shoot we’re doing. If you’re doing digitals for an agency, you’re going to want to wear either black bottoms with a black top, or black bottoms with a white top. However, if you’re looking to do something artistic, you have options: First, we can look into getting you something custom for your shoot. This may cost a bit extra, but it’s worth it. Alternatively, you can always bring things that you own that you want to shoot in.

How much does it cost to do a shoot with you?2024-07-17T22:21:51+00:00

This largely depends. I know, I know, this is a crappy answer. However, if you’re wanting to do an outdoor shoot in a location where it’s free to shoot, it’s going to cost a lot less than if you want to do a studio shoot with hair and makeup artists, a designer’s fashion line, etc.

Here’s what I can say definitively:

  • The studio cost is $350 no matter what. This isn’t my cost, this is the studio’s cost.
  • Hair and makeup can vary depending on who’s doing the work. Often times it’s about $100 per person for the day’s shoot
  • My cost is largely based off of what the expectations are. If you’re working with an agency, I work with them on cost. If you’re just wanting content for yourself, the cost will change accordingly.

My recommendations are as follows:

  • If you’re intending to do an outdoor shoot, consider setting aside roughly 500 for a full day’s shoot (5+ hours)
  • If you’re looking for a studio shoot and all that comes with it, I’d set aside $1000
  • If you’re looking for digitals (agency specific, no retouch) set aside $250
  • I can usually make everything work within these parameters.
